		<description>I imagine that, much like for the Page Rank calculation, Google is not going to release the details of the formula that they use to rank the papers. But it would indeed be interesting to see their rankings of &quot;journal&#039;s prominence&quot; in different fields.

Perhaps they are using some of the measures of journal quality suggested by information and library scientists:
